That artificial intelligence is no longer a futuristic concern is evident. With the fast pace in developments of large learning models, machine and deep learning processes, the fact that computer systems are progressing towards significant cognition and human capabilities is a reality that is manifest across various sectors. With this rhetoric is a pertinent question: how should the law respond?

This is the question which this Committee examines from a plethora of perspectives relevant to law and specifically the governance of AI, new technologies and international law.

As the Chair, I welcome you and implore you to engage with the resources here. We hope that you will join in this conversation as we develop solutions to issues of artificial intelligence and new technologies.
