ILA Scholars

The ILA AI-Tech Scholars is a one-year multidisciplinary research based programme open to selected experts in the field of AI and tech policy. Scholars will be involved in executing a proposed AI project/research in areas including but not limited to AI and human rights, AI and finance, AI and data protection, AI and armed conflicts among others. Asides research projects, scholars will have the opportunity to facilitate the committee’s events, contribute to its work and network with stakeholders, public officials and experts in the field.

Application Information

1. Open to lawyers, tech policy experts, academics and AI researchers of all countries
2. Selected Scholars will be offered a one-year paid membership in the ILA
3. Minimum duration of one-year
4. Applicants must demonstrate interest in AI and frontier technologies. Applicants must be willing to engage in research and provide outputs on the relevant areas
5. Must be available full-time for the entire one-year duration (January – December 2025)
6. Applicants must upload an 8-paged single PDF document consisting of the applicant’s CV (2 pages), cover letter(1 page) and proposed project/research plan (maximum of 5 pages)  This document must be uploaded in the application form below.
7. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the interview
8. Please note: Selected scholars must upon approval execute their proposed project/research
